About Campaignwatch.org
The vision behind Campaignwatch.org is to provide credible, carefully researched information concerning issues of political integrity and corruption to U.S. voters via the Internet. The current report about one major instance of such concern represents a small step toward this vision.
Although other web sites have performed the important service of documenting positions on policy issues and campaign financing sources of candidates in U.S. elections (e.g., http://www.vote-smart.org), there has been inadequate reporting concerning political corruption, especially with respect to organized crime. In instances in which credible sources demonstrate corrupt links or actions of a political candidate, these may be a better indicator of performance in office than proclaimed positions on policy issues. We welcome ideas for realizing this vision (see Contact us).
Campaignwatch.org has been launched by David E. Scheim, Ph.D., author of the 1989 New York Times best seller, Contract on America, an exposé of organized crime in the United States. He is a retired commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service. |
